We built it because the operators we talked to were quoting jobs on legal pads, tracking costs in spreadsheets that nobody updated after day two, and guessing whether they made money. The tools that existed were built for HVAC techs and lawn care. None of them knew what a density-by-terrain rate card was, or why you would track carbide teeth by job.
